Nengi James Hails Naval Officer Yerima for “Exceptional Bravery and Ethicality,” —Nigerians React to FCT Minister Wike Clash

A Niger Delta activist, Nengi James, has declared support for Naval Officer Yerima, commending him for what he described as “exceptional bravery and ethicality in upholding military professionalism” amid the controversy involving the officer and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.
In a statement trending across social media, Nengi James said:
> “I stand with Yerima, the Naval Officer, for exceptional bravery and ethicality on military professionalism. But the institution is greater than orders… he should have used discretion as an officer ⚖️🇳🇬 he may pay for it.”
The comment has stirred a wave of mixed reactions from Nigerians, as the altercation between the young Naval officer and the FCT Minister continues to dominate public discourse.
While some Nigerians hailed Yerima’s composure and courage in the face of political pressure, others cautioned that military discipline demands discretion and adherence to institutional hierarchy.
One social media user wrote:
