Tragedy Strikes at Asagba of Asaba’s 70th Birthday Reception as Chief Warrior Collapses

It was a moment of shock and sorrow on Thursday during the grand reception celebrating the 70th birthday of the Asagba of Asaba, Obi Epiphany Azinge, SAN, when the Odogwu of Asaba, Obi Nwanze Oduah, suddenly slumped and reportedly died.
Eyewitnesses at the event described scenes of panic and confusion as Oduah collapsed at the reception grounds. “He just suddenly fell, and everyone was stunned. People rushed to help, but it was a shocking moment for all of us,” an attendee said.
The incident sent shockwaves through the gathering, which included dignitaries, community leaders, and well-wishers who had come to celebrate the Asagba’s milestone birthday.
Efforts to provide immediate assistance reportedly began on the spot, but the full circumstances surrounding Oduah’s death are yet to be officially confirmed.
The sudden passing of the revered Odogwu has left the Asaba community in mourning, as residents and chiefs pay tribute to a man known for his leadership and service to the town.
