The Sowore Foundation has officially announced the 2025/2026 edition of the #ComeToKiribo2026 festival, its annual youth development and community engagement initiative designed to empower indigent youths and students while exposing them to meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Set to run from December 30, 2025, through January 2, 2026, the festival promises a dynamic blend of sports competitions, cultural showcases, academic engagement, and community service projects, all staged in the scenic town of Kiribo.
Organizers say the event provides a platform for young people to learn, compete, develop new skills, and connect with their community, fostering confidence, discipline, and long-term growth. Highlighted activities include a 15km marathon from Ajagba to Kiribo, a 5km road race within Kiribo, 500m and 100m swimming competitions, a lively boat regatta, alongside music and dance performances, academic programmes, and community service initiatives.
According to the Foundation, Come To Kiribo has become one of the region’s most eagerly awaited grassroots events, giving participants the chance to network, showcase their talents, celebrate local heritage, and contribute positively to their communities.
Social media reactions to the announcement have been buzzing:
“Will surely do my best to be present at this year’s event. I hope my best will be good enough ‘cos festive season family time dey hold person for neck 😀.”
