Kaduna State erupted into political buzz today as Governor Uba Sani CON stormed the House of Assembly with a whopping ₦985.9 billion 2026 Budget Estimate — one of the boldest financial blueprints in the state’s history, which he branded a “Budget of Renewal, Resilience and Long-Term Vision.”
The governor’s presentation delivered shockwaves as it revealed a massive 71% capital expenditure—a figure analysts say signals an aggressive push for infrastructure, social development and human capital growth. Recurrent spending sits at 29%.

GOVERNOR UBA SANI DROPS THE BIG NUMBERS
In his fiery address, Governor Sani reeled out achievements that had lawmakers thumping their desks:
1. Roads Revolution
“We initiated 140 road projects covering 1,335 km, and **64 are already completed and opened to the public,” he declared, a statement that drew murmurs of surprise.
2. Northern Nigeria’s First BRT System
The governor announced that Kaduna is now pioneering Northern Nigeria’s first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) scheme — a full 24 km corridor powered by CNG buses, digital ticketing, and modern terminals.“Over ₦500 million has already been saved by commuters through free and subsidised transport,” he said.
3. Shocking Education Turnaround
In a sector long plagued by insecurity and school closures, the governor made a seismic claim:“We reopened 535 schools and returned over 300,000 out-of-school children to the classroom.”He further listed 736 new classrooms, 1,220 renovations, 39 school fences, 165 boreholes, and 595 VIP toilets.

5. Agriculture Boom
Perhaps the biggest shocker came from the agriculture sector:“Agriculture investment jumped from ₦1.4 billion in 2023 to ₦74.2 billion in 2025,” he announced.Over 900 trucks of free fertilizer have been distributed to smallholder farmers — a record-setting intervention in Northern Nigeria.
