Burial: Tears Flood Egbemo-Angalabiri As Chief Pereboh Abiri Dies At 46

EGBEMO-ANGALABIRI, EKEREMOR LGA — A deep cloud of grief now hangs heavily over Egbemo-Angalabiri and neighbouring communities following the heartbreaking announcement of the passing of Late Chief Pereboh Abiri, who died on Sunday, 16th November 2025, after a brief illness.
With solemn hearts and total submission to the will of God Almighty, the Families of Teweiware, Afoloware, Ikirineware Quarters of Iduro-Idumu Compound, Egbemo-Angalabiri Domain, and Oturu-Egede Quarters of Tamogbene Town, all in Ekeremor LGA, Bayelsa State, have confirmed the painful transition of their beloved son, father, brother, husband, uncle, and cousin.
The news of his departure has sent shockwaves across the entire community, where Chief Abiri was widely cherished for his humility, generosity, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people. His absence leaves behind a void that many say may never be filled.
Born in 1979, the revered Chief lived a life that touched countless hearts before answering the final call at the age of 46.
He is survived by his father, Abiri Abraham, two wives — Elisabeth Pereboh Abiri and Victoria Pereboh Abiri — and five children:
1. Clinton Pereboh Abiri
2. Tessy Pereboh Abiri
3. Chris Pereboh Abiri
4. Purity Pereboh Abiri
5. Fortune Pereboh Abiri
His siblings — Ebikebina A. Abiri, Tina Abrakasa, Esther A. Abiri, and Ebmoobowei A. Abiri — alongside a large host of relatives, remain inconsolable as they prepare to bid him farewell.
BURIAL PROGRAMME SET TO DRAW THOUSANDS
A grand yet sorrow-laden burial has been scheduled as follows:
Friday, 5th December 2025
8 AM: Body departs FMC Yenagoa for his hometown, Egbemo-Angalabiri, via Ekeremor Waterside.
11 AM: Arrival and formal reception by the Council of Chiefs.
11:20 AM: Lying-in-state service conducted by Kingdom Life Chapel, Egbemo-Angalabiri.
4 PM: Denco 5-Aside Tournament Final, played in his honor — a tribute to his passion for youth development and community unity.
5 PM: Interment.
6 PM till dawn: Traditional wake-keep, with soul-lifting music provided by Great Kelly Ebinimiengha Ebinagba.
