Bayelsa, Nigeria — In a heart-wrenching plea that has left many in tears, Gloria Jacob Kurobo, mother of a gifted young girl, is begging the public for urgent financial assistance to save her daughter’s life. The young girl, daughter of prominent Bayelsan Don Jacob Kurobo, has been battling a life-threatening condition for 14 long years and is now in urgent need of hip and bladder replacement surgery, estimated at 15 million Naira.
Speaking to the public, Gloria Kurobo said, “Please, you people should help me. My daughter has been lying like this since last week. The doctors warned us that if we do not act quickly, she might die. I am using this medium to beg Bayelsans, the state government, and well-wishers to come to her aid.”
The young girl, despite her debilitating condition, is remarkably talented. She has written seven books, with her latest work completed just before her illness worsened. Academically brilliant, she scored 330 in JAMB and has successfully passed her WAEC examinations. Yet, her physical condition has denied her the opportunity to attend school and pursue her dreams.
Gloria painted a vivid picture of her daily struggles, saying, “Every day, we use 18 pieces of Pampers. The weekly cost of these essentials alone exceeds 100,000 Naira. I have nothing left to sell or raise funds from. We are desperate.”
In a passionate appeal, she called on notable figures and philanthropists, including General Tompolo, Kestin Pondi, Joshua MacIver, Ogum Boss, Afrika, and Esri, urging them to assist. She emphasized, “Don Jacob Kurobo is the bonafide owner of this child. Please, people should come to our rescue. She is a very promising child, and God will touch the hearts of those who can help.”

The mother’s desperation reflects the dire circumstances, as she sold her house to fund her daughter’s care, with no relief in sight. Her plea is simple yet urgent: “Please, let us assist this little girl. Nothing is too small at this point. She sent me a message saying, ‘Please sir, don’t let me die!’ That pierced my heart. I cannot watch her suffer any longer.”
