Child Found Along Ibusa Expressway as Police Launch Search for Parents, Nigerians React

By Passman Akpos

The Delta State Police Command has called on the public to help identify and reunite a young boy with his family after he was reportedly found wandering along the express road in Ibusa.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bright Edafe, who made the announcement on social media, urged anyone with useful information to call 09155570008.

“Please, guys, let’s help this child to reunite with his parents. He was found on the express at Ibusa. Kindly call 09155570008,” Edafe wrote, appealing to well-meaning Nigerians to assist in locating the boy’s family.

The post immediately drew widespread reactions from Nigerians, many of whom expressed concern for the child while urging the police to release a clearer image to aid identification.

One commenter wrote:”Some persons may not see his face well. You would have done a close shot (zoom) so he can be identified quickly even by neighbours.”

Another added:”Plz zoom on his face, the camera is far, making it impossible to see and know the face.”

Others speculated about the circumstances surrounding the boy’s appearance on the expressway, with some suggesting the family may already have reported him missing.

“If you look carefully, it’s the family handwork. Someone must have reported this to the police at GRA station in Asaba,” a user claimed.

Another commenter reacted with concern:”Lying down on the express ke? Omo! Pikin wey person dey find with fasting and prayer.”

Some also suggested the child might have special needs.”The child looks autistic… I pray his parents are able to reunite with him,” one user wrote.

Despite the debates, many Nigerians commended the Delta State Police Command and the Good Samaritan who rescued the child from danger.

“God bless the police officer in Delta State for the good work you guys are doing,” a commenter said.

Others prayed for PPRO Edafe and his team:”My boss, thanks for the good job. More promotion in Jesus’ name.”

As the search continues, the police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring the boy’s safety while calling on the public to circulate the information widely.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Delta State Police Command immediately.
