Court remands 20-year-old for alleged attempt to steal hospital equipment

A Grade A Customary Court sitting at Mapo in Ibadan on Tuesday remanded one Ibrahim Adisa, 20, in a correctional centre for alleged attempt to steal a hospital refrigerator compressor.
The President of the court, Mrs S.M. Akintayo ordered Adisa to be remanded in Agodi prisons after his failure to perfect his bail conditions.
Akintayo adjourned the suit until April 9 for hearing.
The police prosecutor, Insp. Ayodele Ayeni told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the crime on March 16, about 5.30 p.m., at Mokola area in Ibadan.
Ayeni alleged that Adisa was apprehended in the premises of Alafia Hospital, Mokola, Ibadan after destroying the burglary and the window leading to an apartment in the hospital and attempted to steal a refrigerator compressor.
The prosecutor claimed that the defendant also attempted to steal a typewriter, an Android phone and some clothiers.
He said that the offences contravened sections 414 and 308 of the Criminal Code, Cap 38 vol. ii law of Oyo State 2000.
