Yenagoa, Bayelsa State – The First Lady of Bayelsa State, Dr. (Mrs.) Gloria Diri, has expressed profound appreciation to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, following the successful implementation of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Food Outreach Scheme in Bayelsa State.
In a statement shared on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, Dr. Diri revealed that she was “delighted” to once again host the First Lady, who was represented by Her Excellency, Hajiya Nana Shettima, the Wife of the Vice President, during the official handover of food items to vulnerable groups, households, and low-income earners across the state.
According to Dr. Diri, the event, held under the Renewed Hope Initiative’s Food Outreach Scheme, brought smiles and relief to many families struggling with economic hardship.
> “Seeing the smile and joy on the faces of the many women who received their portion of the food items as they danced was satisfying,” she said. “It is heartwarming to know that the various RHI interventions are fostering social and economic growth in Bayelsa State.”
She further commended Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her continued commitment to improving the welfare of women, children, and vulnerable persons across Nigeria, noting that the programme aligns with the state government’s ongoing efforts to uplift the poor and promote inclusivity.
> “Thank you, our dear mother, Your Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON. Bayelsa is grateful,” Dr. Diri added.
The Renewed Hope Initiative, a pet project of the First Lady, has continued to extend humanitarian support nationwide through empowerment schemes, education grants, and food distribution drives aimed at alleviating poverty and strengthening community resilience.
