In a strongly worded message addressed to Pope Leo XIV, Pezeshkian described the depiction as deeply offensive, warning that such actions undermine values of peace, faith, and global respect.
“On behalf of the great nation of Iran, I condemn the insult… the desecration of Jesus… is unacceptable to any free person,” Pezeshkian declared in a post shared Monday on the social platform X.
