The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro, has congratulated High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, on his conferment of an Honorary Doctorate of Laws (LLD) by Edwin Clark University, Kiagbodo, Delta State.
Tompolo received the prestigious honour during the institution’s 4th–7th combined convocation ceremonies, where he was celebrated for his far-reaching contributions to peacebuilding, educational development, and humanitarian service across the Niger Delta.
In a statement signed by Mr. Igoniko Oduma, Special Assistant on Media to the PAP Administrator, Otuaro described the award as “well-deserved and befitting,” noting that Tompolo has consistently shown exceptional commitment to the peace, progress, and stability of the region and Nigeria as a whole.
Otuaro highlighted Tompolo’s pivotal role in sustaining peace through dialogue, community engagement, and non-violent conflict-resolution strategies, stressing that these efforts have significantly supported national security and boosted economic stability.
He further praised Tompolo’s philanthropy, compassion, and humanitarian spirit, noting that his numerous investments in education and youth empowerment reflect a leader deeply connected to the aspirations of his people.
“Tompolo’s good heart, generosity, and love for humanity distinguish him as a leader of rare character,” Otuaro said.
The PAP boss also commended Edwin Clark University for recognizing an individual whose influence, he said, “continues to resonate across the Niger Delta and beyond,” and urged other institutions to honor personalities who contribute meaningfully to national development.
Otuaro concluded by praying for God’s continued guidance, long life, and strength for Tompolo as he continues to serve the Niger Delta and Nigeria with dignity, wisdom, and compassion.
