The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has cautioned applicants in the ongoing recruitment exercise to be vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudsters posing as officials of the service.

In a public notice released on Thursday, the NIS emphasized that the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) will not send emails or SMS messages to applicants regarding their recruitment status.

According to the service, all genuine updates and notifications will be accessible only through the official CDCFIB recruitment portal. Applicants who have been shortlisted are advised to log in to the portal, update their profiles, and print their examination slips as directed.

> โ€œCDCFIB will not send emails or SMS to applicants. Visit our portal, and once shortlisted, update your profile to print your examination slip. Follow the instructions carefully. Beware of scammers! ๐Ÿšจโ€ the NIS stated.

The Service also urged the public to disregard any messages, calls, or online platforms requesting payment or personal information, stressing that the recruitment process is completely free of charge.

This warning follows reports of fraudulent individuals attempting to extort money from unsuspecting applicants with false promises of job placement or examination assistance.

The NIS reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent and merit-based recruitment process, urging applicants to rely solely on official communication channels for accurate information.
