A beneficiary of the Niger-Delta Presidential Amnesty Programme has been beaten to dead by the security profile of the Interim Administrator Maj. Gen. Barry Tariye Ndiomu yesterday at the Amnesty office gate, Nile street, Maitama Abuja.
According to eye witness who pleaded anonymous, told Tarakirivoice that, the decease was among the beneficiaries that were delisted by Ndiomu from the Programme so he (decease) went to the office out of frustration with document as a genuine beneficiary of the Programme in order for the Interim Administrator to reinstate him back to the Programme.
In the process of accessing his way to the office to submit the documents, the security profile of Ndiomu prevented him from accessing the office, out of frustration, he(decease) Insisted on accessing the office to submit his document.
According to the eye witness, Major Akpor, who his the CSO to the Interim Administrator, Maj. Gen. Barry Tariye Ndiomu, orders the security men at the gate to brutalized the victim, using the back of their AK47 riffles to heat him on the chest, head and back, some march him with military boots.
A clip of the video of the lifeless body of the victim was sent to Tarakirivoice on WhatsApp, were the victim in the video was lying flat on the ground and somebody was pouring water from a sachet water on the body to revive him.
Recall, Tarakirivoice had reported the issues of the delisting of the Amnesty beneficiary and the issues of BVN linkage, were the Interim Administrator Maj. Gen. Barry Tariye Ndiomu has stopped the payment of the N65,000 stipend right from his inception as the Interim Administrator going to over a year now, over 3,000 beneficiaries have not received their monthly stipends. Ijaw leaders led by Chief PA E.K Clark have called for a meeting between Ndiomu and the Ex-agitators to resolve the matter.
The victim who was identified as PERE EBIDOWEI from southern Ijaw Local Government Area Bayelsa State, was rushed to the hospital, according to the Eye witness, he died in the hospital as a result of the torture given to him by the soldiers at the gate of the presidential Amnesty office as ordered by the CSO to Ndiomu.
Tarakirivoice put a call across to the S.A on media to the Interim Administrator on phone but there was no response.
