FAAC Shares ₦2.3trn as Amnesty Beneficiaries Demand Early June Stipends After May Delay

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared a record ₦2.3 trillion generated in May 2026 among the Federal Government, states, and local government councils, a development that is generating fresh optimism among beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) across the Niger Delta.
The latest allocation, which exceeds the ₦2.257 trillion distributed for April 2026, comes at a time when many Amnesty beneficiaries are still reflecting on the delay that affected the payment of their May stipends.
Although the May 2026 stipends are currently being paid, many beneficiaries noted that the payments did not commence until June 17, creating anxiety and uncertainty among thousands who depend on the monthly support for their livelihoods.
With the Federal Government and other tiers of government now receiving another major revenue allocation earlier than expected, beneficiaries are expressing hope that the June 2026 stipends will not experience a similar delay.
Many beneficiaries believe that the strong revenue inflows should enhance government liquidity and facilitate the timely release of funds required for critical programmes, including the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
The optimism is further fueled by the programme’s increased 2026 budget allocation of approximately ₦115 billion, which many stakeholders expected would translate into smoother operations, prompt stipend payments, expanded training opportunities, and improved welfare support.
Several beneficiaries who spoke on the development welcomed the commencement of May stipend payments but appealed to the management of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and relevant government agencies to ensure that June payments are made on schedule.
According to them, regular and predictable payments remain crucial to maintaining stability and confidence among beneficiaries across the Niger Delta.
The latest FAAC distribution included ₦818.68 billion to the Federal Government, ₦759.141 billion to states, ₦534.277 billion to local governments, and ₦188.132 billion as derivation revenue to oil-producing states.
As government revenues continue to rise, beneficiaries say they hope the positive fiscal performance will be reflected not only in development projects but also in the timely fulfilment of welfare obligations under programmes designed to sustain peace and stability in the Niger Delta.
For many beneficiaries, the expectation is simple: now that May stipends are being paid and another record FAAC allocation has been released, June 2026 stipends should arrive on time without the uncertainty that surrounded the previous payment cycle.
