Bayelsa public school student bag WAEC vatebra Merit Award

The public secondary school student, identified as Numa Precious Keme of Ido Comprehensive Secondary school (ICSS), Egbemo-Angalabiri, in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa state, cleared his WAEC with an astonishing 8 A’s and 1B which earned him the nomination as the best candidate in Nigeria from a Public Secondary School for the 2024 Examinations.
In a letter obtained by Tarakirivoice, The West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) nominated the Bayelsa State Student, Numa Precious Keme of Ido Comprehensive Secondary School, Egbemo-Angalabiri, for the WAEC Vatebra Merit Award For Best Overall Male Candidate in Public Secondary Schools In Nigeria.
The WAEC/Vatebra Merit Award is an annual initiative by Vatebra Limited and the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to recognize and reward outstanding academic achievement among public school students in Nigeria. The awards are presented at the annual meeting of the Nigeria National Council of the WAEC, with categories for the best overall male and female candidates and the best public secondary school in sciences. Winners receive cash prizes and are honored for their dedication and intellectual prowess.
In a letter dated August 14th 2025, addressed to the principal of the school “your former student, Master Numa Precious Keme has been preselected for the consideration for the WAEC/Vatebra merit Award for the best overall male candidate in public secondary schools, in WASSCE for school candidates 2024, in Nigeria”.
“We will appreciate it if you will get in touch with the parents of your former student, so that they can supply details of his pre-secondary school’s performance and other useful information about him” they noted.
The 63rd Award is scheduled to hold in Abia state, Nigeria, by November 2025.
