Sowore Drops Political Grenade: “Tinubu Doesn’t Know What’s Happening in Nigeria!”

A fresh wave of political tension erupted online on Wednesday after rights activist and presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore launched a blistering criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing him of being disconnected from the realities facing Nigerians. Sowore’s remarks quickly ignited a chain reaction of heated commentary across social media platforms.
In a strongly worded post, Sowore alleged that President Tinubu “appears not to even know what’s going on in Nigeria, except where there is land to grab, loans to obtain and steal and using Nyesom Wike to cause confusion in preparation for his failed and dead 2027 ambition.” He concluded his commentary with the rallying cry: #TinubuMustGo.
The activist’s remarks triggered a flood of reactions from supporters and critics alike. Some commenters amplified the call for mass civic action, insisting that the president must “resign now and be forced out by the people,” while others echoed hashtags such as #EndBadGovernance, #RevolutionNow, and #TinubuMustGo.
One social media user mocked the president’s frequent foreign engagements, stating:“Ooh he is also very much interested in the next place to travel to. He doesn’t miss any opportunity to travel, even if na Congo he will be there.”
Another quipped:“If they explain Nigerian problem to you and you understand it, that means the chance of you getting mad is very high.”
Several reactions praised Sowore for his outspokenness.“Truth is not for cowardice… I salute your everyday courage Sho,” one admirer wrote, while another commented:“I must commend you sir for your boldness in truth and power… You are a true champion!”
Others, however, sought clarity and political direction.“Which party is contesting with Tinubu in 2027?” one user asked, reflecting uncertainty over what alternatives may emerge.
Some commenters expressed exhaustion and frustration:“How do they spell ‘I’m tired’ in Yoruba? Because that’s how I feel right now.”
Meanwhile, a smaller minority defended Tinubu, urging Nigerians to “set aside differences and support him,” though their voices were significantly overshadowed by a wave of discontent.
Amid the uproar, a lingering question surfaced:“Sowore now you have left Regina & Ned matter; yes I support you on this but how will Nigerians chase him out?”
Political analysts say the intensifying online agitation reflects growing public anxiety over insecurity, economic hardship, and perceptions of sluggish leadership. With the 2027 elections still years away, Wednesday’s online storm highlights the deep polarization shaping Nigeria’s political landscape.
