Lokoja, Kogi State – Panic gripped parts of Lokoja earlier today as unverified rumours of bandits in the city sent residents into a frenzy. Video footage circulating on social media shows shop owners hastily closing their businesses while people sprinted through the streets in fear.
In the video, a voice can be heard shouting repeatedly: “Bandits dey, bandits dey ooooh,… Lokoja lokoja… Abegooooo, make ona help us ooooo!” The chaotic scenes reflect the anxiety that has unsettled residents of the Kogi State capital.
