ADC Unveils Major 90-Day Membership Drive, Sets Timeline for Nationwide Congresses and 2026 Convention

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the commencement of a 90-day nationwide membership mobilisation, revalidation, and registration exercise, signaling a major organisational push ahead of its planned national activities in 2026.
In a statement released on Saturday, December 13, 2025, the party disclosed that it has also approved provisional dates for its congresses and the election of delegates across all levels of the party structure, from polling units to wards and local government areas.
According to circulars issued by the ADC National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the congresses are scheduled to take place between January 20 and January 27, 2026. These exercises will lay the groundwork for the party’s Non-Elective National Convention, which is slated for February 2026 in Abuja.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, said the decisions were reached during a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) held on November 27, 2025. He emphasized that the planned activities are in strict compliance with the provisions of the ADC Constitution.
“The nationwide membership drive and the scheduled congresses are aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots structures and ensuring internal democratic processes ahead of future political engagements,” the statement noted.
With the rollout of the membership registration and the approval of congress and convention timelines, the ADC appears set to intensify its nationwide presence and consolidate its organisational framework as it prepares for the next phase of its political activities.
