“Anambra Now Nigeria’s Safest State?” — Soludo Makes Bold Claim After Meeting Tinubu

By Passman Akpos

Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has declared that Anambra State is now the safest state in Nigeria following what he described as sweeping security gains under his administration.

Soludo made the bold assertion after a meeting with President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu earlier today. The governor was accompanied by business magnate Sir (Dr) Emeka Offor during the high-level engagement at the Presidential Villa.

Addressing developments in Anambra, Soludo said his administration has recorded major breakthroughs in tackling insecurity, including the destruction of more than 62 criminal camps across the state.

According to him, the crackdown has significantly weakened criminal networks that once operated in forests and remote communities, restoring public confidence and economic activity.

“We have destroyed over 62 criminal camps and brought an end to the infamous sit-at-home order that once crippled our economy,” Soludo stated. The governor said the suspension of the sit-at-home directive, which had previously paralyzed commercial activities and disrupted livelihoods, marks a turning point in the state’s recovery. Businesses, schools, and public institutions are now operating without the fear and uncertainty that once defined Mondays in parts of the state.

Soludo attributed the progress to strategic collaboration between the Anambra State Government and federal security agencies, while expressing appreciation to President Tinubu for his continued support.

“I am grateful to the President for his support and look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts in driving progress and development in our great state,” he said.

Observers say the governor’s strong statement is likely to spark national conversation, particularly his claim that Anambra has become the safest state in the country — a position that may draw both commendation and scrutiny.

The meeting is believed to have also focused on broader developmental initiatives, as the state government seeks deeper federal partnership to consolidate security gains and accelerate economic growth.

With security reportedly stabilizing, attention now turns to whether the momentum can be sustained and translated into long-term investment, job creation, and infrastructure expansion in Anambra.
