A 24-year-old man, Usman Abdullahi, from Shelleng Local Government Area of Adamawa State, has expressed regret after being abandoned by the same girlfriends for whom he stole several packs of Indomie noodles.
Usman, who was apprehended and sentenced to community service for the theft, told the court that he shared the stolen noodles among his three girlfriends—yet none of them visited him during his time in detention.
According to him, their silence and lack of concern have opened his eyes.
“I stole Indomie and distributed it to my three girlfriends. Since I arrived the facility, none of them paid me a visit. I promise to end the relationship with them all once I gain my freedom,” Usman said before the judge.
The incident, which has been trending on local social media platforms, has generated mixed reactions—some criticizing the young man’s actions, while others sympathize with his emotional disappointment.
Authorities say Usman will complete his community service sentence in the coming days.
