Over 100 Arrested at Alleged Substance Abuse Party in Lagos — NDLEA Confirms Investigation

By Passman Akpos
Social media erupted on Sunday morning after a viral post by media personality Kemi Talks claimed that “all your FAVE celebrities” were arrested at a late-night substance abuse party in Lagos.
In her post on X (formerly Twitter), Kemi wrote:
> “Just spoke to the NDLEA. Heard all your FAVE celebrities were arrested last night at a substance abuse party. Over 100 ppl 😬 SMH #NoDrugsNG — Kemi Talks”
The statement sparked widespread speculation online, with fans sharing unverified lists of supposed attendees and calling for official confirmation from authorities.
When contacted, a spokesperson for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) confirmed that “an operation took place in the early hours of Saturday” but declined to release names pending investigation.
> “Yes, our officers carried out a coordinated raid following intelligence reports of large-scale drug use and distribution at a private event in the Lekki area,” the spokesperson said. “Over one hundred individuals were detained for questioning, and controlled substances were recovered at the scene.”
As of press time, no official list of the detained individuals has been released. However, sources close to the entertainment industry suggest that several high-profile musicians, influencers, and actors were among those present.
Fans have flooded social media with mixed reactions — some expressing disappointment, others urging restraint until NDLEA confirms identities.
The NDLEA reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on narcotics, emphasizing that “no one is above the law,” regardless of status or public image.
