“Something Strange Happened Online After the Deputy Governor Rumour… You Need to See This.”

....“Madness Online! Blogger Announces Deputy Governor’s ‘Successor’ While State Is Still Silent!”

By Passman Akpos

YENAGOA — Bayelsa State was thrown into a frenzy of anger, shock, and pure disbelief on Thursday after an overzealous blogger reportedly rushed to social media to announce a “new Deputy Governor” barely minutes after unconfirmed reports of the Deputy Governor’s alleged passing began to circulate.

The Bayelsa State Government has NOT issued any official statement, did NOT confirm any death, but social media — as usual — exploded like kerosene meeting open flame.

The infamous post, which appeared online for just 11 minutes before vanishing like smoke, boldly claimed that:

> “By the constitution, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. (High Chief) Abraham Ingobere will likely be the next Deputy Governor following the exit of Lawrence.”

The disappearance of the post only intensified suspicion and anger across the state, as citizens demanded to know: Who is this blogger? Why the rush? Wetin really dey worry some people?

Michael Ebisine Aguwaye, visibly disgusted, wrote:

> “Social media don become curse because of some people. Wetin we go call this one? Smartness? On-time reportage? This is absolute insensitivity of the highest order!”

Others joined the online firestorm, calling the blogger “confusion merchant,” “harbinger of bad news,” and in typical Bayelsa fashion, “blogger of darkness.”

PUBLIC REBUKE: ‘ALLOW THE MAN REST FIRST!’

Angry citizens questioned why anyone would begin constitutional debates within an hour of alleged death, with one commenter blasting:

> “I don’t know how people are thinking oo. Someone just died allegedly and now una don dey talk constitution?”

Another snapped:

> “You read the rubbish and now you’re the one spreading it. You have become the blogger here!”

FACT CHECK: WHAT DOES THE CONSTITUTION REALLY SAY?

Massive confusion erupted as people argued heatedly:

Some claimed the Speaker automatically becomes Deputy Governor.

Others insisted that the Governor alone selects a new deputy.

One commenter swore:

“Why was Sambo selected under GEJ? The speaker is NOT constitutionally empowered.”

Another fired back:

“So who should be deputy if not speaker?”

The Constitution is clear:

If a Deputy Governor dies in office, the position becomes vacant. The Governor nominates a replacement. The House approves. The Speaker does NOT automatically become Deputy Governor.

But logic took the backseat as emotions grilled the internet.

BAYELSA CITIZENS DEMAND JUSTICE: ‘SHOW US THE BLOGGER NAME!’

Anger reached boiling point as calls emerged for the mysterious blogger to be exposed:

> “Show us the blogger name make we mark e face.”

> “Until dem flog one of these self-acclaimed bloggers with thorns, the rest no go learn.”

> “Na all these bloggers dey cause confusion for this state.”

Others, sensing something darker, whispered:

> “If true true say Deputy Governor kpai, I swear no be ordinary…”

STATE IN LIMBO, RUMOURS IN OVERDRIVE

For now:

No official statement.

No confirmation of death.

No announcement from government.

What remains is a state struggling to separate truth from rumour, and a social media space set ablaze by one reckless post and countless outraged reactions.

One thing is clear:

Bayelsa is demanding answers — and the mysterious blogger has questions to answer too.
