“No Warrant, No ID, They Forced Daniel Ezekiel Into A Car — Oporoza Was The Destination, They Wanted Him Dead” — Gbaboyor Alleges, As He Asks: “Who Sent Jerry?” And Puts Tompolo Camp Under Fresh Fire

ABUJA — Fresh allegations have emerged over the September 18 arrest of Niger Delta activist and human-rights campaigner Apostle Perela Ezekiel Osia, popularly known as Daniel Ezekiel, with Niger Delta figure Engr. Jude Gbaboyor alleging that the operation was initially intended to be an abduction and that the activist was allegedly being taken to Oporoza.

Gbaboyor, in a strongly worded statement, alleged that the men who arrived at Daniel’s workplace on Friday morning were not genuine police officers acting under lawful authority, but individuals allegedly deployed by Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.

He further alleged that the ultimate objective was to take Daniel to an alleged detention facility in Oporoza, Gbaramatu Kingdom, where he claimed the activist could have been killed.

These claims have not been independently verified, and there is currently no public evidence establishing that Tompolo ordered, authorised or participated in Daniel’s arrest or that there was a plan to kill him.

Gbaboyor: “They Were Not Real Police Officers”

According to Gbaboyor, the incident occurred at about 9am on Friday, September 18, when an armed group allegedly led by a man identified as Jerry arrived at Daniel’s workplace.

He claimed the men wore security jackets and introduced themselves as personnel from Police Force Headquarters.

Gbaboyor alleged that Daniel demanded to see their arrest warrant and identification cards but that the men allegedly refused before forcing him into a vehicle.

He further claimed that youths in the neighbourhood intervened and pursued the vehicle after witnessing what they believed was an abduction.

According to his account, the alleged abductors eventually drove into the Agwan Cement Police Station, where the operation allegedly began to appear like a conventional police arrest.

The account is substantially more serious than the information contained in earlier reports, which said Daniel himself was unsure whether the men who took him were police officers. The Nigerian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Daniel said one of the men introduced himself as Jerry and that he was taken to Agwa Cement Police Station pending the involvement of Force Headquarters personnel.

Alleged Oporoza Connection

Gbaboyor went further, alleging that the original destination was not a police facility in Abuja but Oporoza in Gbaramatu Kingdom.

He claimed that the operation was allegedly designed to remove Daniel from Abuja, take him to what he described as a secret detention facility and ultimately silence him.

That allegation remains unsubstantiated.

No independent evidence currently available publicly establishes that Daniel was being transported to Oporoza or that anyone planned to murder him.

Why Daniel’s Arrest Has Generated Controversy

The latest allegation comes against the background of an already documented dispute involving Daniel, Chief Ekomieyefa Uduboh, popularly known as KFT, and people associated in public discourse with Tompolo.

On September 3, 2026, lawyers from Ebilade Obiri & Associates reportedly petitioned the Inspector-General of Police and the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre over publications allegedly made by Daniel and Yemi Otuedon, also known as Otuedon Warri.

The petition accused the two men of publishing material on Facebook allegedly describing KFT with terms including “thief,” “killer,” “kidnapper,” “abductor” and “violator of human rights.”

The lawyers described the publications as false and malicious and reportedly attached screenshots to the petition.

Daniel was subsequently reported arrested in Abuja on September 18 over allegations bordering on cyberstalking and dissemination of false information concerning KFT.

The chronology — September 3 petition followed by the September 18 arrest — has therefore become a major issue in the controversy.

However, the sequence alone does not establish that the petition ordered or caused the arrest, nor does it establish any involvement by Tompolo.

Gbaboyor Links Arrest To Daniel’s Previous Allegations

Gbaboyor alleged that Daniel became a target because of allegations he had previously made concerning alleged unlawful detention and abuse involving Tompolo, Tantita Security Services and individuals whom Daniel has described as being within Tompolo’s wider circle.

Daniel has previously made public allegations concerning detention, abuse and other alleged violations in the Niger Delta.

Those allegations have been disputed and have not been established as criminal findings by a court.

Recent reporting similarly noted that Daniel has accused Tompolo and Tantita of abuses, while stressing that those allegations remain unproven and that there is no verified evidence that Tompolo ordered or participated in Daniel’s arrest.

“Charles Korubo Was Also Taken To Oporoza” — Gbaboyor

Gbaboyor also alleged that the reported operation against Daniel followed what he described as an established pattern involving other individuals.

He specifically mentioned Charles Korubo and Balamene Karowei, claiming they were allegedly abducted from their homes and taken to an alleged secret facility in Oporoza.

He further claimed that Daniel had previously raised an alarm over the alleged disappearance of Korubo.

These claims require independent verification. Tarakirivoice has not independently established the alleged existence, ownership or operation of any secret prison in Oporoza.

Gbaboyor Threatens Fresh Revelations

In the most provocative part of his statement, Gbaboyor gave what he described as a deadline for Daniel’s release.

He called on those he accused of being behind the operation to release Daniel and allow the matter to proceed through the courts.

He warned that failure to do so would lead to the publication of what he described as “top secrets” concerning alleged activities in Oporoza.

Gbaboyor also said he was prepared to participate in any court proceedings alongside other alleged victims.

Police Yet To Publicly Explain Full Circumstances

The central unanswered questions remain with the Nigeria Police Force.

Who authorised Daniel’s arrest?

Which police unit carried out the operation?

Was the arrest based on the September 3 petition submitted by KFT’s lawyers?

What offences are being investigated?

Was Daniel formally invited before being arrested?

Why was he initially taken to Agwa Cement Police Station?

And what role, if any, did Force Headquarters play?

As of the latest reports available, the police had not publicly provided a comprehensive account addressing all of these questions. The Nigerian Observatory for Human Rights reported that it had sought clarification from the police and Force Headquarters.

Allegations Of Tompolo Link Require Evidence

The renewed allegations have inevitably placed Tompolo’s name at the centre of the controversy because of Daniel’s previous public accusations and the identities of some individuals involved in the wider dispute.

But a documented association, petition or sequence of events does not by itself establish a coordinated kidnapping operation.

There is currently no verified evidence establishing that Tompolo ordered, authorised or participated in Daniel’s arrest.

Similarly, KFT’s petition does not establish guilt on the part of Daniel or prove that the petition was filed at Tompolo’s direction.

Those matters require evidence and, where applicable, judicial determination.

The Bigger Question

What began as a bitter dispute involving social-media allegations has now moved into the territory of police investigation, detention and competing claims of human-rights violations.

Daniel’s supporters are demanding transparency over his arrest, while KFT has reportedly pursued a formal police complaint over alleged cyberstalking and defamatory publications.

The latest allegations by Gbaboyor add another serious dimension: whether the September 18 operation was simply a police arrest arising from a complaint, or whether there were circumstances surrounding the operation that have not yet been publicly explained.

Until the Nigeria Police Force provides a detailed account, significant questions remain.
