President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, to condole with the government and people of the state over the Alau Dam flood disaster.
Tinubu arrived in Maiduguri about 3 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024.
Tinubu, who was received on arrival by Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, is scheduled to pay a courtesy visit on the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Umar-Garbai El-Kaneni, from where he is expected to proceed to one of the camps to address displaced persons.
The last Monday flood, which submerged almost half of Maiduguri, led to loss of lives and property.
The Borno State Government has since opened 36 camps to cater to thousands of displaced persons in the state capital.
