Woman Allegedly Beaten To Near-Death By Husband — Disturbing Video Triggers Public Outrage

A disturbing video circulating on social media has sparked outrage among Nigerians after a woman was allegedly beaten to a near-lifeless state by her husband.
The video, which was sighted by Tarakirivoice and shared on social media by Princess Wanawana, shows the woman lying almost motionless on the ground while a man, reportedly her husband, is seen attempting to lift her.
From the footage, the woman appeared extremely weak and barely responsive. However, Tarakirivoice observed that she appeared to still be breathing.

The discussion accompanying the video alleged that the woman had been severely beaten by her husband. However, Tarakirivoice could not independently verify the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault, the identity of the individuals involved, the location of the incident or what may have triggered the reported violence.
It is also unclear whether the woman was taken to a hospital or whether security agencies have commenced an investigation.
The footage has generated strong reactions from Nigerians, with many condemning the alleged violence and expressing concern about the woman’s safety.
One commenter drew attention to what appeared to be a bottle in the man’s pocket, writing:

Another commenter expressed shock, saying:

Another reaction described the situation as unacceptable and questioned the identity of the victim:
