18-year old remanded for allegedly stealing motorcycle valued N450,000

The Osun Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife, on Monday, remanded one Sunday Emmanuel, 18, standing trial for stealing a Boxer motorcycle valued N450,000.

The defendant, who was not legally represented, pleaded guilty to the two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing preferred against him.

The Magistrate, Abosede Sarumi did not grant the bail of the defendant, but ordered for his remand at the Ile-Ife Correctional centre pending the perfection of bail.

The case was adjourned until June 2, for hearing

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offences sometime in 2024 at Sabo Area, Ile-Ife.

Osanyintuyi said that the defendant conspired with others at large to commit felony to wit: stealing.

He alleged that the defendant stole one Boxer Motorcycle valued N450, 000 which he sold for paltry sum of N50,000.

The prosecutor said that the offences were contrary to Sections 390(6) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
