2023 PEPT Judgement: Group hails tribunal verdict on President Tinubu
A political group under the auspices of Concerned Progressives Frontier, CPF, has commended the presidential election petitions tribunal for affirming the electoral victory of President Bola Tinubu.
The group stated this during a press briefing at the weekend in Abuja, while reacting to the verdict of the tribunal which upheld the election of President Tinubu, calling on Nigerians to rally support him for a greater nation and more democratic dividends.
The tribunal on Wednesday struck out the petitions of the Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 election for failing to prove their cases.
The National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Ebitimi Jones, while congratulating President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress, APC, enjoined him to carry everybody along for easy sustainability of the good governance that he has started.
He also noted that the President started off on a good note despite distractions from the court case that was finally laid to rest by the court, adding that his first 100 days as the President has witnessed tough decisions but Nigerians will remain grateful for such steps in no distance time.
He said the verdict has further saved the country another trouble of wasting resources on litigations that are baseless, when the President is doing all to see that the country moves forward.
He also used the medium to commend major stakeholders of the party which includes a former gubernatorial candidate of the defunct ACN, a former freedom fighter, Alhaji Majid Asari Dokubo, for their unflinching support for the president and always leading a united front in the Niger Delta region.
He added”The verdict of the court which affirms the victory of the president is the best thing that has happened to our country. We have to move forward by supporting the President with his policies and programmes that will better the lives eof citizens of the country. We have moved beyond the period of election, this is the time for development of every region in the country”
We urge the opposition to unite and support the President for a greater nation building. We don’t have another country than this one, and nobody will build our country but us Nigerians.
