2027 Election: Nigerians votes to count as organization emerge to safeguard voters interest

A National, Non- governmental and Non-partisan organization to safeguard the interest of the Nigerian voters has emerge. The organization with the name, National Association of Voters Union (NAOVU) founded by Passman Akpos, a Journalist, an advocate for good governance.

According to Passman in a statement made available to Tarakirivoice, “the National Association of Voters Union (NAOVU) is a national body that is birthed to safeguard, protect and secure the interest of voters and to make sure votes are counted according to the dictate of the Nigerian voters.

This body, will have the National head as the president, different Zonal heads as Vice presidents, state heads as Governors, head of local Governments as Chairmen, head of Wards as councilors”

The body will have Armies of election observers that will monitor elections right from the polling unit to the final announcement of results and to make sure votes are counted”

A WhatsApp group has been created for interested persons to join this all important organization to safeguard Nigerian voters.

I have worked as an INEC Ad-hoc staff. In my polling unit, I happened to be the one who operated the BVAS machine.

As the election proceeds, different groups, ranging from international elections observers, different party agents, the security team and amongst others were on the polling units monitoring the election.

The party agents duty in the polling unit, is to make sure vote for the particular party is secure, and agents are in all the polling units, monitoring their vote for the success of the political party.

I was in possession of the BVAS Machine, after the conclusion of the election in the day, these various party agents followed me, bumper to bumper, to the INEC collation center, in order to make sure, there is no manipulation on the way.

In all of these associations, during election to support their different interests groups, to succeed, but when it comes to the voters, there is no national body that stand to support the interest of the voters to succeed, and that’s why the Nigerian voters are always shortchanged.

That is why the call for a National body that is non-partisan, to oversee and protect the interest of every eligible Nigerian voters, by so doing, voters will not only vote but make sure their vote counts and that’s what will save the country from rot.

So, the National Association of Voters Union (NAOVU) is a national body that is birthed to safeguard, protect and secure the interest of voters and to make sure votes are counted according to the dictate of the Nigerian voters.

This body, will have the National head as the president, different Zonal head as Vice presidents, state heads as Governors, head of local Governments as Chairmen, head of Wards as councilors.

The body is not a profit making organization and will be funded by Goodwill donors, both national and international. Anybody who is interested in making sure Nigeria succeed is an emerging donor.

The body will have Armies of elections observers that will monitor elections right from the polling unit to the final announcement of results and to make sure votes are counted.

The NAOVU Observers will be on uniform and well kitted with special media instruments to record on the spot election activities on the polling units to the collation center and final announcement of results.

The NAOVU will have a constitutional backing, so therefore, a bill must be sponsored by the Armies of all Nigerian voters who have the interest of Nigeria at heart and want their vote counts in order to produce good governance.
