24 hours power supply is sacrosanct by December — Gov. Diri Assures

The Governor of Bayelsa state, His Excellency Sen. Douye Diri has once again assured the people of The state to expect 24 hours power supply by December this year.
The Governor made this known today while inspecting the newly acquired 60 megawatts gas turbines at Elebele, 25000 olympic-standard stadium at Igbogene and nine-storey Secretariat projects at Ovom, Yenagoa Local Government Area of the State.
Governor Diri assures Bayelsans of the December 2025 deadline for the gas turbine project and equally timely completion of the stadium and secretariat projects.
The governor commended the contractors and supervisors of the projects for doing a good job.
“By God’s grace, by December 2025, we will have our gas turbines fired up to give Bayelsa State 24 hours power supply. Our 25000 Olympic-standard stadium and nine-storey digital secretariat complex projects will be completed as scheduled.
There are several impacts of these projects, especially in the areas of job creation, small and medium scale enterprises and industries. Almost all the economic activities will be impacted by these projects,”~ Gov. Diri stated.
Dignitaries who accompanied the governor on the inspection were the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrujakpo, Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, Member representing Yenagoa Constituency One in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Ayibanengiyefa Egba, Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei, Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Irorodamie Komonibo, Commissioner for Power, Engr. Kharim Kumokou, Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Hon. Ebiwou Koku-Obiyai, Managing Director of Bayelsa State Electricity Company Limited, Engr. Olice Kemenanabo, Chairman of Bayelsa State PDP, Hon. Solomon Agwana, Deputy Chairman of Bayelsa State PDP, and top government officials.
