50,000 Police Slots Up for Grabs! Tinubu Unleashes Biggest Recruitment Drive In Nigeria’s History!

Abuja, Nigeria — The Federal Government has officially opened the recruitment portal for the enlistment of 50,000 new Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to strengthen community policing and boost the nation’s internal security architecture.

In a statement signed by Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, the Police Service Commission (PSC)—working jointly with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF)—announced that the portal will be accessible from Monday, December 15, 2025, to Sunday, January 25, 2026.

The Commission described the exercise as a “transparent, merit-based and credible national recruitment process” aimed at expanding the security workforce to meet Nigeria’s rising policing demands.

QUALIFICATIONS & ELIGIBILITY

The recruitment is open to qualified Nigerians under two categories:

1. General Duty Cadre

Minimum of five (5) credits in GCE O’Level/SSCE/NECO or equivalent

Must include English Language and Mathematics

Results accepted from not more than two sittings

2. Specialists Cadre

Minimum of four (4) credits, including English & Mathematics

Three years’ experience and relevant Trade Tests required

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must:

Be Nigerian citizens by birth

Be 18–25 years old (General Duty) or 18–28 years (Specialists)

Be medically, physically and psychologically fit

Meet minimum height requirements (General Duty Only):

1.67m (male)

1.64m (female)

Satisfy other conditions listed on the recruitment portal

APPLICATION PROCESS

All applications must be submitted online only via the official portal:

The PSC stressed that APPLICATION IS FREE, warning applicants to beware of scammers:

> “There will be NO PAYMENT required at any stage of the process, and applicants are warned to be wary of fraudsters.”

The Commission further confirmed that detailed guidelines and all necessary instructions will be available on the portal once activated on December 15, 2025, as well as on the official websites and social media platforms of both the PSC and NPF.

The PSC urged eligible Nigerians to take advantage of this historic recruitment drive:

> “The Police Service Commission urges all qualified and patriotic Nigerians to seize this opportunity to serve the nation.”

With 50,000 slots approved—the largest single police recruitment in recent years—the Federal Government says it remains committed to strengthening security, modernizing the police force, and improving the ratio of officers to citizens across the country.
