A Grade A Customary Court sitting at Iyaganku, Ibadan has remanded a 20-year-old man, Samuel John, at Agodi Correctional facility, for alleged burglary and theft of raw beans worth N20,000.
John on Friday pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of breaking into a dwelling house and stealing, preferred against him by the police.
The Magistrate, Mrs Sukurat Yusuf, therefore, ordered that he be remanded at Agodi Correctional facility until Tuesday, Sept. 10 for review of facts and sentencing.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Phillip Amusan, told the court that on Sept. 2, at 6.00 a.m., the defendant burgled the house of one Ms Felicia Oni, at Oke-Oloro area, Omi-Adio, Ibadan, with intent to steal.
Amusan said that the defendant stole raw beans valued at N20,000 from Oni’s house.
He said that the case was reported at Omi-Adio Police Station.
According to him, the offences contravene Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
