BIU maintained full accreditation for Faculty of Law, College of Medicine, Others As Chancellor Attributes Institution’s Success to Divine Intervention

The Chancellor of Benson Idahosa University (BIU), Most Rev. (Dr.) Margaret E. Benson Idahosa JP, OON, has expressed profound gratitude to God following the successful accreditation of the institution’s programs by the National Universities Commission (NUC).  

Receiving the official report from the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John A. Okhuoya MNIM, FNIST, Most Rev. (Dr.) Margaret Idahosa remarked, “When I look at where we were and where we are now, I know it can only be God.” Her statement underscored the university’s journey of growth and excellence, which she attributed to divine intervention.  

The NUC’s accreditation exercise, which assessed the quality of academic programs, facilities, and staff qualifications, reportedly yielded outstanding results for BIU. In the recent letter from the NUC, Benson Idahosa University (BIU) maintained its full accreditation for Faculty of Law, College of Medicine, Physiology and Post-Graduate School, while the Anatomy programme received partial accreditation. The Vice-Chancellor presented the report to the Chancellor, highlighting the institution’s commitment to maintaining high educational standards.  

Founded by the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa, BIU continues to uphold its legacy of faith-based excellence in academia. The recent accreditation success further solidifies its reputation as a leading private university in Nigeria. 

 Stakeholders, staff, and students have celebrated the achievement, viewing it as a testament to the institution’s dedication to holistic education and spiritual values.
