Group ask Tinubu to disregard baseless allegations against Tompolo says His not a politician rather He is a Nationalist, peacemaker, defender of Ijaw

By Paul Ebi

“Tompolo is not a politician; he is a nationalist, a peacemaker, and a defender of the Ijaw cause. His visit to Bayelsa State was in furtherance of security collaboration and regional peace; not politics as falsely alleged by these hirelings,” the group emphasized”

“The group called on the Federal Government, security agencies, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to disregard the baseless allegations circulating in the media and to continue partnering with credible stakeholders like Tompolo and Jonathan to consolidate peace and development in the region”

The Southern-Ijaw Coalition groups which comprises of critical stakeholders, youth and ex-agiators have reacted strongly to a recent publication credited to a certain self-acclaimed “Southern Ijaw stakeholders,” that do not exist anywhere describing the statement as a sponsored propaganda stunt by failed politicians and self exiled ex-fighters desperately seeking relevance.

In a strongly worded statement released from its Awere-Benikrukru base in Southern-Ijaw on Monday, and made available to Tarakirivoice, the group dismissed the so-called coalition as a faceless, pseudo collection of paid voices, who have lost touch with the people and whose mission is to sow discord and mislead the public regarding the recent peace and security engagement between High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (alias Tompolo) and Former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in Bayelsa State.

According to the group Spokesman, Chief Nelson Ebi, he noted that the publication was a deliberate attempt to blackmail genuine Ijaw leaders who have continued to stand for peace, unity, and the development of the Niger Delta region.

“It is both shameful and insulting for a few desperate individuals, who have done nothing to advance the cause of the Ijaw people to suddenly wake up and question the integrity of men who have risked everything for the emancipation of our land,” the group stated.

The coalition described High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) as a pillar of peace and an architect of the Niger Delta’s security stability, noting that through Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, oil theft has drastically reduced, criminal networks dismantled, and thousands of Niger Delta youths gainfully employed.

“Tompolo is not a politician; he is a nationalist, a peacemaker, and a defender of the Ijaw cause. His visit to Bayelsa State was in furtherance of security collaboration and regional peace; not politics as falsely alleged by these hirelings,” the group emphasized.

The statement further hailed Former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as an enduring symbol of peace and diplomacy in Nigeria. SILF noted that under his leadership, the Niger Delta witnessed unprecedented calm and developmental strides, and his continued advocacy for peace should be applauded, not vilified.

“Dr. Jonathan remains the pride of the Ijaw nation and one of Africa’s most respected voices for peace. Those attacking him today were nowhere near the creeks when he was building bridges of unity for all Niger Deltans,” the group declared.

The group also commended Great Joshua MacIver and Chief Pastor Reuben Wilson describing them as “ fearless sons of the soil and visionary leaders who has continued to empower youth and defend the dignity of the Ijaw nation.”

“Both Maciver and Pastor Reuben Wilson have stood by their people through thick and thin. They have invested in the future of Ijaw youth even when others sought to divide us. It is, therefore, absurd for political merchants to drag their names into their propaganda circus,” the group added.@The group also condemned attempts by political saboteurs to weaponize the tragic Igbomotoru incident for political capital, describing it as inhuman and insensitive.

“While we mourn with the incident at Igbomotoru, true leaders seek solutions, not division. Those exploiting the Igbomotoru saga to score cheap political points should bow their heads in shame,” the statement read.

The group further alleged that certain individuals outside Bayelsa are being remotely controlled by some external forces who wish to destabilize the state and weaken the unity of the Ijaw nation for selfish gains.

“It is ironic that while other regions protect their leaders and pursue development, some Bayelsans are being used to malign their own. This must stop. The Ijaw nation is bigger than any individual ambition,” SILF warned.

The group further reaffirmed its unwavering support for Tompolo, Dr. Jonathan, Pastor Reuben and Great Joshua MacIver, describing them as true sons of the soil whose sacrifices and leadership have sustained peace and restored dignity to the Ijaw nation.

“No amount of blackmail or propaganda can erase their legacies. The Ijaw people know their heroes, and history will always vindicate them,” the statement concluded.

The group called on the Federal Government, security agencies, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to disregard the baseless allegations circulating in the media and to continue partnering with credible stakeholders like Tompolo and Jonathan to consolidate peace and development in the region.

Finally, the group urged all Ijaw youth to remain peaceful, vigilant, and united, warning that any attempt to divide the Ijaw nation will meet resistance from the true defenders of the creeks.

“Our unity is non-negotiable. The enemies of peace will not succeed. From the creeks to the cities, the spirit of the Ijaw nation remains unbroken.”
