President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of five new Permanent Secretaries to fill existing vacancies in the Federal Civil Service.
The announcement, made on Monday, was contained in a statement issued by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF). According to the statement, the appointments followed a rigorous selection process conducted to ensure merit, competence, and federal character representation.
The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are expected to be sworn in soon after the completion of standard administrative procedures.
President Tinubu, while congratulating the new appointees, urged them to uphold the principles of professionalism, transparency, and accountability in the discharge of their duties. He emphasized that the appointments were part of his administration’s commitment to strengthening the civil service for effective policy implementation and improved service delivery.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, also commended the President for the timely approval, noting that the addition of new Permanent Secretaries would enhance efficiency in critical sectors of governance.
The new appointees will be assigned to their respective ministries in the coming days.
