“A Day of Pride and Purpose: Tajudeen and Yari Immortalized in Ikorodu Tradition”

Ikorodu, Lagos – In a ceremony steeped in culture and tradition, Abbas Tajudeen was yesterday officially installed as the Otunba Adekílúmọ of Ikorodu Kingdom, a prestigious title recognizing his commitment to service and leadership.
The event brought together community leaders, dignitaries, and citizens to celebrate the rich heritage of Ikorodu. Tajudeen, visibly moved, described the honor as a “privilege I hold with gratitude and humility,” pledging to continue serving with integrity and dedication.
The ceremony also celebrated other notable contributions to national service. The Accountant General of Nigeria was recognized for his steadfast commitment to the nation’s financial stewardship, earning admiration from attendees.
In a parallel moment of pride for the kingdom, Distinguished Senator Abdul Aziz Abubakar Yari—Tajudeen’s colleague and brother in public service—was installed as Baba Isale of Ikorodu Kingdom, marking another historic moment for the community.
Expressing his appreciation, Tajudeen extended heartfelt thanks to the people of Ikorodu, emphasizing his resolve to uphold the values of true leadership while honoring the legacy of the kingdom.
The twin installations reflect a celebration not only of individual achievement but also of the enduring spirit and cultural pride of Ikorodu.
