“Nigeria Is Being Set Up for the Kill”—FFK Sounds Alarm on Alleged Foreign Conspiracy

........FFK Alleges Foreign Plot Against Nigeria, Warns Citizens to Rally Behind Government

By Passman Akpos

Abuja, Nigeria — Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode (FFK), has issued a lengthy and strongly worded public statement warning Nigerians of what he describes as a “coordinated foreign conspiracy” aimed at destabilising the country, fuelling insecurity, and undermining the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In the statement, released on Monday, Fani-Kayode accused a prominent Western political figure—whom he described with harsh and unflattering terms—of allegedly making comments that “provoke more attacks, killings and abductions” in Nigeria. According to him, such remarks are deliberately crafted to weaken the country and justify potential foreign intervention.

He alleged that external powers “are fuelling the insurgency with their words and actions,” and compared the situation to scenarios in Sudan, Congo DRC, Libya, and Iraq, insisting that similar patterns preceded foreign-backed conflicts in those countries.

Fani-Kayode also criticised what he sees as Western hypocrisy, pointing to recent diplomatic engagements between the same foreign leader and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, arguing that it exposes inconsistencies in their stated concerns about protecting Christians globally.

“The script is clear,” he wrote. “Stoke chaos, weaken the Government, incite the people, engineer regime change, and spark civil war that allows them to plunder the nation dry.”

He further claimed that for decades, Nigeria has been the target of a “well-orchestrated international conspiracy” allegedly designed to prevent the rise of a strong, influential African nation. He accused unnamed Western countries of withholding arms sales, restricting intelligence sharing, and previously refusing to designate Boko Haram as a terrorist organisation.

According to Fani-Kayode, the insecurity Nigeria faces is being amplified by “a dark and relentless foreign force” in collaboration with local political actors. He warned that inviting foreign military intervention would lead to the loss of Nigeria’s sovereignty, arguing that “there is not one country that foreign powers have entered with bombs and left better than they found it.”

Despite his criticisms, Fani-Kayode called on Nigerians to support President Tinubu, the Armed Forces, and the national security architecture.

“There is room for criticism and even anger,” he wrote, “but there is no room for disloyalty to the national cause.”

He urged citizens to pray for the country, maintain faith in its leadership, and resist narratives that portray Nigeria as incapable of managing its internal challenges.

“This is a time to show those who mock and undermine us that we can handle our own affairs. Nigeria shall be great again,” he concluded.
