“Ibadan Stunned As Pastor’s Daughter Snatched At Home Gate — Community Boils, Police Silent!”

Ibadan, Oyo State plunged into fear and confusion Thursday night after Ibukun Otesile, mother of two and daughter of the revered Rev. Olalekan Babatunde, founder and General Overseer of Jesus Is King Ministries, was abducted right in front of her home gate.
According to a statement signed by Olamide Olanrewaju, personal assistant to the outgoing Chairman of the Oyo State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the horrifying incident occurred at General Gas, Akobo, around 8:00 p.m.
Witnesses said the attackers struck swiftly, snatching Mrs Otesile before anyone could react.
> “The daughter of our beloved Reverend Dr. Lekan Babatunde was kidnapped this night, Thursday, December 4, around 8:00 p.m… right in front of her gate,” the statement read.
The Christian community immediately raised the alarm, calling for urgent action from security operatives including the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Army.
Olanrewaju said attempts to reach the police spokesperson and even contacts at the Eleyele Police Headquarters had been unsuccessful.
Tension intensified as it emerged that Mrs Otesile is the President of Junior Chambers International (JCI), Ibadan Elite, a significant leadership position that has sparked concerns of a targeted attack.
Efforts to reach the Oyo State Police Command reportedly yielded no responses, worsening fears and raising questions on the state of security in the region.
The abduction comes just days after the reported kidnapping of Adewale Oriade, a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC), suggesting a dangerous surge in abductions across the state.
The community now waits anxiously as frantic efforts continue to secure the safe return of Mrs Otesile, whose abduction has sent shockwaves through the religious and civic leadership circle in Ibadan.
