“Why OPM Is Sending Members to Saudi Arabia and Refusing to Reveal Their Salaries—The Answer Will Surprise You”

By Paul Ebi

In a move highlighting its focus on personal development, the Church of Christ in Nations’ outreach program, OPM, has successfully deployed a new batch of members to Saudi Arabia, where they have completed documentation and begun work in the oil sector.

Unlike previous announcements, the organization chose not to disclose the salaries of the members for security reasons, respecting the wishes of those who traveled, though church leadership admitted they would have preferred transparency. Historically, OPM has shared salaries and benefits of members sent overseas without any security issues affecting families back home.

The church’s leadership emphasized that its priority is investing in people rather than infrastructure. “In OPM we build the members to build the church,” said a senior leader. “We prefer to invest in human beings over church buildings. That’s why we offer free hospitals, free schools, overseas jobs, scholarships, and skill acquisition programs—all for human development.”

Congregants and beneficiaries have praised the approach. Many expressed gratitude for the church’s focus on transforming lives rather than just constructing worship centers. One follower said, “Church is about transformation of the people, more love, more grace, more opportunities because of Jesus Christ.” Another added, “I’m beginning to cherish OPM… this is how a church should be, not investing in buildings while people are starving.”

The next batch of OPM members traveling to Saudi Arabia is expected to be announced soon, continuing the church’s ongoing efforts to provide both spiritual and practical opportunities for its members.

Through initiatives like these, OPM demonstrates a model of faith that intertwines spiritual growth with tangible human development, underlining its motto: investing in people to build the church.
