“Nigerian Troops Wipe Out Scores of Boko Haram Fighters in Daring Borno Ambush!”

By Passman Akpos
Borno State—Troops of the Nigerian Army operating under Operation HADIN KAI have recorded a major battlefield success after ambushing and disrupting a Boko Haram/ISWAP logistics movement in Sojiri and Kayamla communities of Borno State, neutralising scores of terrorists in a fierce gun battle.
The operation, which took place following credible intelligence, targeted a large group of over 100 Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) reportedly converging in the area to launch coordinated attacks on surrounding communities and transport critical supplies to terrorist strongholds.
Acting swiftly on the intelligence, troops—working in close synergy with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local vigilantes—mobilised and laid an ambush along the terrorists’ route. Contact was made at about 1200 hours, triggering a sustained and intense firefight.
Military sources disclosed that during the engagement, the terrorists attempted a rear-flanking manoeuvre, but the move was decisively countered as troops applied superior firepower, overwhelming the insurgents and forcing them into disarray.
Following the encounter, troops conducted aggressive exploitation deep into surrounding forested areas, which confirmed the neutralisation of 21 terrorists, with several others believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds. Follow-on operations are ongoing to determine additional enemy casualties and recover more materials.
Items recovered from the terrorists include several bicycles, assorted food items, drugs and medical supplies, detergents, clothing materials, bicycle tyres, torchlights, and other logistics items, as well as assorted weapons of different calibres and ammunition.
According to the military, troops remain in high morale, with fighting efficiency described as strong and unwavering.
The Nigerian Army said the successful ambush underscores the effectiveness of intelligence-driven joint operations, reaffirming the commitment of security forces and local partners to degrading terrorist networks, cutting off their supply chains, and restoring lasting peace to the North-East.
