Police nabs suspected armed robbers in Bayelsa

The Bayelsa state Police command has arrested two suspected armed robbery gang members.
Spokesman of the command, SP Asinim Butswat, in a statement made available to newsmen said the suspects were arrested by the Anti-kidnapping unit of the command following a tip-off from a community leader.
The statement reads, “Following a tip-off by a community leader, Operatives of the Anti-kidnapping unit of Bayelsa State Police Command arrested one Abraham Kalizibe ‘m’ 34 years, a native of Etegwe Community, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
“The suspect is a member of a notorious armed robbery gang terrorising, Yenagoa and it environs.
“Upon interrogation the suspect, confessed to series of armed robbery operations and led police detectives to the armed robbery gang’s armourer one Abadi Prosper ‘m’ 18 years, where two locally made pistol and five cartridges were recovered.
“The Suspects are undergoing interrogation and will soon be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation.
