A Niger-Delta activist and leader of the Coalition of the Niger-Delta Ex-agitators of the presidential Amnesty Programme, Comrade Passman Akpos has advised the interim Administrator of the presidential Amnesty Programme, Maj.Gen Barry Tariye Ndiomu to keep the interest of the Ex-agitators.
Passman Akpos, who is a front runner and the initiator of the ongoing protest that is over a month in the nation’s Capital, Abuja, against the stoppage of payment of some Ex-agitators due to BVN related issue.
In a media Chat with our correspondent, the Activist, advised the interim Administrator to keep the interest of the Niger-Delta Ex-agitators to heart and fully pay the Ex-agitators that are affected by the BVN issue.
” for crying out loud this Programme is meant for the Ex-agitators. Is it proper to suffer those who are the owner and Others who knows nothing about the Programme to benefit?”
” I saw a press Statement that emanated from the Amnesty office dated May 10th 2023, that was signed by Flight Lieutenant Terry Ekubgene Ajobena (rtd) in behalf of the Interim Administrator, Maj.Gen Barry Tariye Ndiomu”
” Looking at the second paragraph of the press release, that reads ( How ever, due to pressing financial demands relating to the welfare of the actual Ex-agitators this month, the ITA for the months of April- June 2023 quarter will be deferred till when the may 2023 monthly allocation is received. The PAP regrets this slight delay in payment but wishes to assure all its scholarship beneficiaries the ITA payment will be effected as soon as earlier stated)”
” Mark the words (ACTUAL EX-AGITATORS) also take note of the phrase (pressing financial demands relating to the welfare of the actual Ex-agitators)”
” the question that will come to mind is that, do we have a special welfare package?,is there special welfare package meant for the actual Ex-agitators for the months mentioned in the press Statement?,who are then the Ex-agitators that are not ACTUAL?, if ITA for the months of April- June 2023 quarter be deferred which special allocation that is coming to the office to clear the accumulated ITA’s?”
The activist noted that, Ndiomu might have good intention for the Ex-agitators but his Advisers are the problem.
“I presume the special welfare package is meant for those Ex-agitators who have spent fortune in the Nation’s Capital going to two months in protest against the stoppage of payment of the BVN related issue. paying hotel bills for these period of time without any support from anywhere is not a joke, somebody who doesn’t mean business will not persist for this long. I can remember the day we stage a protest in the Amnesty office when Ndiomu ordered the Army men to whip us with tree branches, many of our leaders were hospitalized”
” My advice to Ndiomu, “do the needful” the Ex-agitators are ready to back you in any length if you play by the rule, the programme is their own, we can’t fold our hands for some one from nowhere to take our glory, we are the actual Ex-agitators”
“Some of those people parading themselves in the office, STRACOM or what ever they are called should be dissolve and replaced with Amnesty Parliament (AP) with notable Leaders from all the three phases of the presidential Amnesty Programme to give you up to date advice that will better the programme of which you will have the needed peace, void of protest”
” let the BUV issue come to a conclusive end, also look into the welfare of those who have spent fortune in Abuja to protest, call for a general leaders meeting, have a round table discussion with them, draw all the leaders close to yourself, is for your own good, don’t treat one well and another bad, it will not tell well”
