Multichoice removes TB Joshua’s Emmanuel TV from DStv

By Peregba Jerry

Multichoice, the South African satellite television company that operates DStv, in Sub-Saharan Africa, has notified viewers to discontinue the broadcast of the religious network, Emmanuel TV.

Emmanuel TV is used to broadcast the religious activities performed by the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet TB Joshua.

This Multichoice’s announcement is coming on the heels of the controversial documentary reports by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) about the allegations of torture and rape perpetrated by TB Joshua.

In a veiled decision linked with the report, Multichoice announced to remove Emmanuel TV from DStv with immediate effect from January 17th, 2024.

A notification on DStv conveyed, “Dear viewer, please note that Emmanuel TV will exit on the 17th of January 2024. Thank you for watching.”

Beyond parting ways with MultiChoice, it has been reported that Emmanuel TV will also discontinue on StarSat and various other pay-TV platforms.
