Abe to Wike, Fubara: We are all guilty of anti-party activities

The former representative of Rivers South East Senatorial District, Senator Magnus Abe, has told the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, not to point the finger at only his successor, Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, for engaging in anti-party activities.
Abe said this was because the three of them were guilty of anti-party activities.
He made this remark on Friday in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, at a stakeholders meeting hosted by the Minister of the FCT.
Abe, who was responding to remarks by Wike in which he castigated Fubara and a former Rivers State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili, said: “I want to make clear that politicians struggle to achieve their political interests.
“We all do that.
“Those politicians now with Fubara are not there because they love him or because they love the state.
“They are there for their political interests.
“Politicians go against their parties for their interests.
“I did anti-party because I worked against the candidate of SDP (Social Democratic Party).
“Oga (referring to Wike), you also did anti-party because you worked against the presidential candidate of PDP (Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar).
“Fubara, who is now governor, also did anti-party because he was with you, and you all worked against Atiku.
“Politicians fight for their interests, and that’s it.
“Those who are fighting for Fubara will not be doing so if Fubara was not governor.”
Speaking earlier, Wike denied the allegation that he converted the resources of Rivers State into his private estate while serving as governor, an allegation attributed to Odili.
He said: “Those who made the allegations have their children serving as commissioners.
“Is any of my children a commissioner?
“I never converted the state into my personal estate.
“Those who parade themselves as elders of the state today were the same people who opposed Fubara’s emergence as governor.
“I stood my ground.
“But today, they are the ones moving everywhere, calling themselves elders.”
