The Pan-Yoruba Socio-political group, Afenifere, has sent a goodwill and solidarity message to its counterpart, the Ijaw National Congress (INC), assuring it of its undoubted partnership to move the country forward.
In a statement sighed by its Secretary-general, Olusola Ebiseni, on behalf of the Chairman, Ayo Adebanjo, reads in part, “The Afenifere, therefore wishes to express our very warm goodwill and fraternity solidarity with the Ijaw National Congress for a successful election of the new executives of the organization, particularly at this crucial and critical period of our nation’s history.
“We wish to alert the new Executives of the INC of the task ahead of them, perhaps greater than those of their predecessors in ensuring a secured environment void of banditry, herdsmen, terrorism, other acts of criminality and particularly for the Niger Delta.
“An environment breath of hydrocarbon pollution and other activities which tend to hinder progress and development to our people.
“In this daunting task, do rest assured of our undoubted partnership,” it stated.
(More Partnership)
Meanwhile, The Interim Administator of the Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP), Col. Milland Dikio (retd), pledged to partner with the INC in advancing the Ijaw interest to the world. He, however, called for a new approach to advocacy, which according to him, “promoting excellence, re-strategising by networking, lobbing and forming partnerships across the various ethnic nationalities.”
