Army Neutralises Militia in Bloody Gun Battle —Shock As Police officer Arrested!

Taraba State was thrown into shockwaves yesterday as 6 Brigade Troops of the Nigerian Army stormed Usmanu Village in a lightning-fast counter-assault that neutralised four armed militia members and exposed a dangerous twist in the spiralling Shomo–Wurkun communal crisis.
Acting on credible intelligence of renewed hostilities over a long-festering land dispute, troops raced into the volatile Karim Lamido axis — but what awaited them was a burst of gunfire from armed assailants hidden within the Fadama belt.
What followed was a blistering exchange of bullets that shook the quiet settlement. In minutes, the superior firepower and tactical precision of the Nigerian Army overwhelmed the attackers, leaving four militia fighters neutralised and their camp scattered.

But the most explosive twist came when troops uncovered a serving Nigeria Police personnel operating side-by-side with the armed militia.The officer was immediately arrested and is now undergoing intense investigation and profiling, in what security analysts describe as “a major crack in the complex layers of Taraba’s communal conflict.”
BRIG-GEN UWA ROARS: “WE WILL ELIMINATE CRIMINAL ELEMENTS FROM TARABA — COMPLETELY.”
Commander of 6 Brigade/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, hailed the troops for their bravery and swift action, reaffirming the Brigade’s commitment to crushing all violent groups, collaborators, and saboteurs threatening stability
He urged the people of Karim Lamido and Taraba at large to stay calm, assuring them that lasting peace is non-negotiable and firmly within reach as the Army sustains pressure on violent actors.
