Azman Air denies indefinite suspension of operations, says flight to resume soon

Azman Air says it will resume operations as soon as it finalises its aircraft maintenance.

According to reports, the airline had announced the suspension of its operations indefinitely, citing financial difficulties.

The airline was also said to be experiencing a shortage of aircraft and had sent its staff on leave without pay.

Denying the claims in a statement on Sunday, Hadi Abdulmunafia, accountable manager of Azman Air, said the airline is currently maintaining two of its aircraft.

He also said the airline will resume “full flight operations very soon”.

“We would like to clarify that the reports circulating in various media outlets regarding the indefinite suspension of Azman Air operations are inaccurate and do not reflect the current status of our airline,” the statement reads.

“We are currently finalizing the maintenance of two of our aircraft, and we anticipate resuming our full flight operations very soon.

“The temporary pause in our services was a necessary measure to ensure the highest standards of safety and reliability for our valued passengers.

“We understand the inconvenience this may have caused and deeply appreciate the continued support and understanding of our customers.

“Our team has been working tirelessly to expedite the maintenance process, and we are now in the final stages.”

Azman also said it is committed to providing safe, reliable, and efficient air travel services.

“We will keep our customers and the public informed of any further developments through our official channels,” the airline added.

Abdulmunafia also appreciated customers for their patience and loyalty as “we work towards resuming our operations at the earliest possible time”.

On August 9, 2023, Azman Air sent all its staff on compulsory leave indefinitely without pay, after suspending operations.

Nurudden Aliyu, the airline‘s spokesperson, said the decision was made due to a number of factors, including the ongoing C-checks on its aircraft and the high cost of operations.
