Terrorist kingpin, Bello Turji, spotted with militants in North-West-Report
Bandit kingpin, Bello Turji, has reportedly been sighted alongside his militant gang in the North-Western region of Nigeria, counterterrorism expert, Zagazola Makama, reported on Friday.
Makama, a counterterrorism and insurgency expert focusing on the Lake Chad Basin, shared the update via his X handle, stating, “Bello Turji has been spotted with his militant gangs in the rocks of Fakai and Manawa in the North West.”
This disclosure comes amid intensified efforts to track down Turji, who has been linked to numerous violent crimes and terror activities across Nigeria’s northwestern states.
The discovery of Turji’s whereabouts coincides with the recent death of another notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Dogo Isah, who was killed on January 7, 2025, during a clash in Kachia Forest, Kaduna State.
The violent confrontation erupted when Isah’s group attempted to raid a cattle camp operated by Kachalla Musa, a former bandit leader who had embraced a government-backed peace initiative.
The raid escalated into a fierce gunfight, leaving Isah and two of his men dead. Security expert Makama confirmed the details of the encounter, noting that the clash broke out as Isah’s group attempted to steal livestock from the peaceful camp.
