Bayelsa Gov. Douye Diri to receive WAEC Vatebra Merit Awardee, describe academic performance as administration’s improvement on education

The Governor of Bayelsa state, Sen. Douye Diri is set to receive Master Numa Precious Keme of Ido Comprehensive Secondary School Egbemo-Angalabiri, in the government house.
Recall, Tarakirivoice reported that Numa was nominated for WAEC Vatebra Merit Award For Best Overall Male Candidate in Public Secondary Schools In Nigeria.The WAEC/Vatebra Merit Award is an annual initiative by Vatebra Limited and the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to recognize and reward outstanding academic achievement among public school students in Nigeria. The awards are presented at the annual meeting of the Nigeria National Council of the WAEC, with categories for the best overall male and female candidates and the best public secondary school in sciences. Winners receive cash prizes and are honored for their dedication and intellectual prowess.
The 63rd Award ceremony is scheduled to hold in Abia state, Nigeria, by November this year.
The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Education Dr. Gentle E. Emelah receives the Bayelsa Born Scholar, Master Numa Precious Keme of Ido Comprehensive Secondary School Egbemo-Angalabiri, today presented a cash gift to him and promised that when Numa returned from the National Council Meeting with his National Award from WAEC, He will be presented to the Bayelsa State Governor His Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State.
Numa Precious Keme cleared his WAEC with an astonishing 8 A’s and 1B which earned him the nomination as the best candidate in Nigeria from a Public Secondary School for the 2024 Examinations.
Dr. Emelah congratulated Master Numa for making Bayelsa State proud, he reiterated that, the Gov. Douye Diri led administration has improved educational outcomes of Bayelsa State and results of this nature are testaments of it.
