Empowerment : MOSIEND commend NCDMB Boss, seek collaboration to build human capacity.

The Movement for the Survival of Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND), has hailed the current leadership of the Nigerian Content Development Monitoring Board (NCDMB), over its exploits in the oil and gas industry and commitments to building human capacity.

MOSIEND, also congratulated the Executive Secretary, NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Wabote, for his pragmatic leadership role in achieving so much in his first tenure, noting that his reappointment was the best thing that has happened to the major stakeholders of the sector and the country at large.

Speaking on behalf of the group at a courtesy visit in the Yenagoa headquarters of NCDMB Friday, President, MOSIEND, Comrade Kennedy Tonjo West, said one of the reason for the visit was to intimate and furnish the board with some of the challenges confronted by oil and gas host communities meted on them by the the IOCs.

Alighting some of the successes recording by the leadership of NCDMB, West said, “It was imperative to encourage those who are ensuring the sector achieve more positive goals, we commend you today so to encourage you to achieve more by way of collaboration with other players and non oil sector players”

He further stated that in terms of  collaboration, the group has  several programmes to help build a strong, focused and dynamic leadership within our locality that will advance our core objectives, not with Guns and threats, but with jawjaw, dialogue and constructive engagement.

He added “To create awareness for peace ,unity and progress among ethnic nationalities with Niger Delta and Nigeria at large, To Galvanize sister organizations within the region to  in the pursuit of our collective goals.

“Amongst our programme and prospect for 2021 is to explore proactive and creative approach towards engaging corporate bodies, and government institutions to bring about 1000 employment and empowerment opportunities for our members and teeming youths”.

Team leaders in line with your vision to create 300,000 job opportunities for Nigerians through your carefully planned and designed Nigerian Content 10 years Road Map to increase Nigerian performance from 28% to 70% in 2027 in Oil and Gas industry, as group, MOSIEND, seek to be an integral partner with you to fast track development and employment opportunities for our teeming unemployed youths.

In his response, Executive Secretary, (NCDMB), Engr. Simbi Wabote, who appreciated their commendations, assured the group of open door polices by the boards in collaboration to achieving the capacity building of citizens as long as it conforms with the provision of the acts.

Wabote, who frowned at the manner of some youths in the region who have turned excess trainings with financial benefits thereafter as a job, adding that some participate in several trainings with no results.

“We are not intervention agencies, and we will not derail to that point, some intervention agencies are suffering because a lot of person meet them and get whatever they can get without any after effect to either the economy or the human development”.NCDMB doors are wide open to collaborate with MOSIEND as long as the programme is well articulated.
