“Breaking: Schoolgirls Dragged Away in Kebbi Attack While Terrorists Kill Vigilantes in Kwara”

By Paul Ebi

Terror returned to the Northwest in the early hours of Monday as armed militants stormed Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Kebbi State, abducting an unspecified number of female students and killing at least one staff member.

The attack, which occurred around 5:52 a.m., caught the school community unprepared as students were getting set for their morning routines. According to HumAngle, the assailants launched the raid with sustained, sporadic gunfire, sending students and staff scrambling for safety.

A school guard was severely injured during the invasion, while several students were seized and taken away by the attackers, SaharaReporters confirmed. Witnesses described scenes of panic as gunmen moved swiftly through the compound before fleeing with their captives.

Residents of the area say the terrorists “have not gone far” and are pleading with both Federal and State authorities to initiate an urgent rescue operation before the kidnappers consolidate their escape.

The tragedy in Kebbi unfolds barely hours after another violent attack in North Central Nigeria.

On Sunday night, terrorists—commonly referred to locally as bandits—descended on Rogun Village in Kpada District, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, where they attacked a police outpost and engaged security personnel in a prolonged gun duel.

A security source told SaharaReporters that the fierce exchange of gunfire lasted several minutes. By the time the shooting stopped, two security operatives — a police constabulary and a vigilante officer — had been killed.

The dual attacks have deepened nationwide concerns over the escalating insecurity sweeping across several states, as communities continue to come under violent siege despite repeated government assurances.

As families in Kebbi anxiously await news of their abducted children, security analysts warn that the latest incidents underscore the urgent need for reinforced, coordinated counter-terrorism efforts before more communities fall victim to the widening wave of violence.
